PROFILE

Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, I moved to the UK early 1999 and we still have our home there. Martin was offered the position of Maintenance Manager here in Lagos, Nigeria and we moved in mid 2009.

 My career was centred within the administration and accounts fields (working in the interior design and decorating fields mainly) which I really enjoyed but due to the economic situation in the UK I was made redundant. This made me change directions in order to get employment and I found a job with a leading energy supplier doing something totally different but I seemed to adapt pretty well and learnt new things everyday.

 When we came to Nigeria I was lost as I could not obtain employment and seemed to be going crazy stuck indoors with nothing to do, I needed to keep my mind occupied. It was then suggested that I apply to do facilitation for GCA, which I did.  I completed the IGW course and then went on to co-facilitate with Sarah Brassington and have just begun facilitating on my own on the 27^th February 2011, I am enjoying this new role.

 I have also been given the opportunity to part-take in the Facilitators course through GCA, which started the same day of my solo facilitating – big challenge after not doing much for 18 months but happy to be busy and learning new things.
