PROFILE

Course developer and lecturer Howard Candelet has unrivalled experience in the LNG field. He has held senior posts with BG Group for 47 years including VP Operations Global LNG based in the USA.

 

 Howard is both a British and US citizen, now based in the US for 18 years. He has qualifications in Electrical Engineering and Process Gas Engineering from Sheffield University. He has completed the CEI Gas Engineering process from Exeter University and is a Member of the Institute of Gas Engineers as well as a CEI Chartered Engineer.

 

 Having retired from British Gas in 2008, Howard is now an LNG consultant to BG, Training Consultant to ABS, LNG consultant to Galway Group, as well as his role as LNG course lecturer in the GTSS Understanding LNG course.

 

 Some of Howard’s previous responsibilities with BG include being the Operational Project Director during the design and construction phase of Atlantic LNG and working as the VP of Operations Atlantic LNG based in Trinidad, directly responsible for the overall operation of the LNG terminal. Howard went on to be responsible as VP Operations for setting up from scratch a USA LNG importation business involving LNG Purchasing, LNG shipping, LNG Ship Building and Terminal importation Operations. The initial setting up was quickly followed with the development of a fully integrated arbitrage and optimisation operations. He later became directly responsible for all BG LNG Global shipping operations and developed the business model to handle the day to day logistics of BG LNG Services - a $3b global operation.
