PROFILE

Carole is an e-learning consultant working independently for her business "CoachCarole.net" in the north-east of Victoria, Australia. Her coaching, mentoring and e-learning updates are located at her blog: http://coachcarole.wordpress.com

Carole began her career in online facilitating and mentoring, back in the early years of the 21st century. At that time, she was living in regional Victoria and preferred to work from her home (near the twin cities of Albury and Wodonga) using all of the web 2.0 tools she could to provide a totally online e-mentoring service to e-learning practitioners.

Carole aka 'Coach Carole' is an explorer by nature and always willing to share innovative practices for all practitioners. She frequently moderates in the busy Australia Series "Elluminate webinars" for educationalists on such topics as eT@lking, ePortfolios and eFacilitation.

During 2007-2008 Carole was a researcher and influencer in up-to-date research on two major e-learning projects in Australia – "Innovate and Integrate: Embedding Innovative Practices Research" and "Embedding Innovative Practices and Measuring the Impact of Champions on e-learning capability".

During 2009-2010 Carole was the e-mentor for the Teachers Embedding E-learning Solutions (TEES) at Holmesglen Institute of the Polytechnic College, situated in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The TEES group have now expanded to include e-leaders across the institute in four campus sites and to support teachers in all forms of e-learning.

During 2007 – 2010 Carole was an e-mentor for Adult Education practitioners in the Hume and Gippsland regions of Victoria. This role enabled Carole to provide e-mentoring for a group of e-champions and e-leaders across the state of Victoria.

Late in 2010 Carole was approached by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (a peak body in Australian Vocational and Education Training) to become the facilitator of a national ePortfolio Community of Practice. Carole is currently enjoying her role in facilitating this vibrant global community of ePortfolio practitioners.

In 2011 Carole was approached by GCA to design, create and deliver the GCA Facilitation Course. This challenge has resulted in the development and piloting of a six week course. Carole is currently enjoying her role as facilitator for the first group of GCA facilitators who are participating enthusiastically in this course to extend and improve their capabilities as facilitators in GAClearn.

She is currently involved in facilitating a Massive Open Online Course for Eportfolios.
