GCA Facilitators Course (GFC)

The GCA Facilitators Course (GFC) is a train-the-trainer style facilitator course that aims to improve the standard facilitation practice amongst the external GCA e-learning facilitators through introducing new theories and techniques, sharing experiences and building a strong facilitator network.

 

The course is based on TAADEL501A: Facilitate e-learning which is a professionally recognised standard of competency specified by the National Training Information Service (Australia).

Who this course is for:

The course is open to all existing GCA facilitators and those interested in joining the facilitator team.

 

Key objectives of the course include:
  • Prepare, Profile, Plan (identifying who the learners are, developing a communication strategy, developing a facilitator plan and identifying support available)
  • Building Trust and Community (introducing learners to a GAClearn course and establishing effective learning relationships, clarifying learner expectations, establishing ‘online presence’ and supporting inclusivity)
  • Becoming a GACLearn Pro (identify best e-learning facilitation techniques, planning effective learning experiences, creating opportunities for authentic learning, using electronic tools)
  • Monitoring Progress (tracking progress on GAClearn, identifying ways of providing support and guidance, monitoring participant interaction, troubleshooting technical issues, formative and summative assessment)
  • Reflect, Review and Report (ending and reviewing courses, documenting recommendations and circulating)

 

How this course will be taught

The GFC course runs for six weeks and is delivered via our state-of-the-art online Learning Management System.
