Profile
As General Manager of this innovative venture, Damien's role is to develop the GAC Corporate Academy as per the very ambitious and progressive business plan approved by the GAC Main Board. To carry out this plan, Damien must liaise with senior stakeholders of the GAC Group, managers of GAC's client companies and external specialists to provide exciting and compelling learning opportunities for all members of the GAC World.
Damien's unique combination of experience, skills and formal education makes him perfectly suited to manage the Academy at its outset and to ensure delivery of its planned objectives and outcomes. Having spent over ten years with the GAC Group, he has acquired a thorough knowledge of the Group's corporate strategy and business objectives and is confident in being able to align the Academy's outcomes with the ongoing success of the Group.
Prior to this appointment, Damien was responsible for the execution and deployment of the XciteU Global Reach CRM Programme, a major organisational development initiative for the Group, focussing on Customer Relationship Management and Customer Service Excellence. Due to the success of this project, he was invited to develop a strategy and business plan to develop a state-of-the-art corporate learning academy for the GAC Group. Thus, Damien is ideally placed to bring that plan to fruition as the Academy's General Manager.
Damien's formal education includes an undergraduate degree in logistics and operations management, an MBA and, most recently, a Master of Education and Training, specialising in e-Learning and Corporate Education. The latter qualification ensures that the Academy will be guided by someone who has been exposed to the latest technological developments in this area of education.
