Profile

Lydia was chosen for this position after an exhaustive search throughout the GAC World. Qualities needed for the role included: a thorough understanding of the GAC Group, superior interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate in a cross-cultural setting, knowledge of communication technologies, outstanding administrative skills and the energy and passion for marketing the benefits of the Academy to all GAC employees. Lydia was a perfect fit.

Lydia has been with the GAC Group, based in Kuwait, since 1997. During that time she rose to Business Development Manager, a role in which she was responsible for the identification and evaluation of new services, as well as the development of existing services with a view to increasing profitability, market share and productivity.

She also participated actively in company innovations such as the Customer Relationship Management programme, proactively encouraging staff and executing several training modules. Her external interactions have included presentations to customers, press conferences and preparation of media items to promote GAC.

In addition to her invaluable on-the-job experience, Lydia is highly qualified academically. She has completed both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration and undertaken numerous extra training courses including a Diploma in Ship Agency with the prestigious Lloyds Maritime Academy in London.

Fluent in English, Arabic and Hindi, and being enthusiastic in developing sales, customer service and team building, Lydia intends to help make the GAC Corporate Academy an outstanding success.
